Living with Cancer

A few weeks ago we heard some really good news regarding Mom's cancer situation. After the results from the PT scan came in the Dr. found NO other types of cancer in her body!!!! He said that with the type of cancer she had, Adino and Siris, that this simply DOES NOT HAPPEN! Typically there are advanced cancers elsewhere in the body. We are praising the Lord for this GREAT news. The Siri cancer is in her blood stream and this point and the Dr. says that it can still come back. He recommended chemo & radiation. But they cannot measure how much cancer is actually in her blood so they would not really know if the treatments were helping or not. About 40% of cancer patients that take chemo get secondary cancer anyway. And 50% of patients that take chemo die from the chemo treatments. 

Right now Mom is taking neither but is focusing a lot on nutrition and supplements. She has been doing a LOT of research about how nutrition affects your body and cancer. She is also looking into sending a blood sample to Japan to have a Dr. there run a test on it. He has been doing research for many years and has found a way to test for cancer in the blood. Something that the American doctors can't do. 

We are praising the Lord that no other cancer was found and trusting Him about the results of this coming blood test. 

Another interesting thing that Mom has found out due to all her research is that cow's milk has been linked to causing cancer. Also that women in the West who consume meat and animal products often have about 10 more years of child bearing added to their lives than women in the East who mainly eat grains and veggies. Interesting little tidbits that we are learning from all the research.
